Update: TIME has stepped up since my initial complaint and have delivered speedy and adept customer service. As far as customer service is concerned, I think they're topping their competitors. It's a good thing. I am not so sure about the speed of the internet because I use it for work and low-profile streaming on Youtube and Netflix, so, my kids may have a thing or two to say about the speed of TIME internet compared to Unifi.

The internet is down...again. And it's only been about slightly more than a week since we've switched to TIME internet and it's down again.

The internet is down...again. And it's only been about slightly more than a week since we've switched to TIME internet and it's down again.
For a family who:
- uses the internet for work
- relies on the internet for entertainment
- have to be on top of everything using internet-based messaging system
- absolutely need high speed internet for gaming and videos
we're appalled. For an internet service provider who boast of fastest internet speed, best value, 100% fiber, and seamless connectivity, this is definitely not what we expected.
We thought it was an upgrade from our former service provider because we're definitely paying slightly more than we would have before the switch.
And yet, here we are, relying on my mobile data (which my kids have run out of since the change) to keep either my work going or for my kids to stay connected to their friends.
I am not delusional and don't expect 500mbps but 8.05mbps???!! My son's speedtest was at 1mbps to 3mbps |
For us to pay TIME for their 500mbps package and get this time of speed, is it acceptable?
I am writing this because I've calmly worked things through with the technical guys, bought new dongle for the kids' computers (because they rely more on high speed internet while I just need reasonable connectivity for work) and have talked to them.
Writing this, the feeling of being trapped is also overwhelming because there's quite literally nothing I can do as a consumer because we've signed on the dotted line and bound by a 24-month contract. If I give them the middle finger, I face a penalty.
So, this means we have to kow-tow to them and beg them to up their service AND pay the bills on time so that we can get shitty service.
As a consumer, I have every right to be pissed off.
I write this as a warning to those who intend to switch to TIME internet, DON'T. If you do, prepared for this bullshit.
Rant over,
Happy (not so happy here) Saturday,
