The Best Weather Ever!

We have summer all year round and in Malaysia, the weather is either so-sunny-till-you-are-sweating-for-no-reason or raining-whole-freaking-day.

For the next few days, if the projection on my smartphone is correct, it will be raining-whole-freaking-day and 22 - 24 degrees out. How...AMAZING! Yeah, sure, we don't get to go to the park in the evening if the rain persists past the hour but still, we get natural air-conditioning! If you've lived through Malaysia's heat wave, you know what a relief that is for folks like us here.

This view here over the skies of Malaysia, a picture I took this morning after sending the kids off to school, is what we have the whole day through. Even as I am writing this, my skin is caressed by naturally cooling air. It's not the bone-chilling cold, yet not the mind-splintering heat. Just nice.

Considering the fact that I have been battling bouts of gastric and was in complete pain to the point that I had to rush myself to the hospital Emergency this past weekend (and a few times to a 24-hour clinic for jabs and meds over the past months), this kind of simple comfort is much welcomed.

Am just enjoying the amazing weather here and a short update.

A Liberating Activity - Guess What Mine Is....

When asked what’s my one single favorite thing to do in the world, I would usually name a whole list of things that I love to do when my work is not screaming at me. Something that takes my mind COMPLETELY off of everyday tasks and relaxes me. Take a guess what it is…. Maid Side-Kick

I was kind of a little sad when I read the news about this - there will be no live-in Indonesian maids in Malaysia anymore . There are pros and cons to having a live-in maid, as with everything else, but for us, we enjoyed more pros than cons. Back then, when my kids were little, we brought in a family of maids to help with...well, just about everything, and we were like two families merged into one. They ate what we ate, we sleep, they sleep, we shop, they shop, they joke, we laugh, we joke, they laugh...for me, the maid I hired was more like a sister and side-kick to me. For that few years, I was dependent on her to mind-read my schedule and when I need or don't need help. She picked things up quickly and we ended up having lots of moments whereby we were in sync. Recipe :Pumpkin Carrot Soup

Updated this post with a real picture. Ever since, Son 2 saw me buying some local pumpkin, he's been suggesting this for the longest time. I wish I took a picture of the mushroom soup I made the day before. Edit: I did the mushroom soup recipe a bit earlier) + meatballs and pasta ) I didn't but I will do it the next time I make it. It was absolutely heavenly. But anyway, these were more or less the ingredients I used and the way I made it. I made it using the crock pot/slow cooker over a couple of hours because it's an easy and lazy way to melt everything down. Unlike Chinese soups, we just need to cook everything down and then blend everything, and I mean everything , except the juices, down to a pulp. Before the final serving, just add in as much cooking cream as you want. This is subjective and based on your personal preference. I don't think AI can recreate the images above. Hehehehe.....
