I Would Make A Better Man Than You

I agree with Beyonce's new hit song, 'If I were a boy'. If I were a boy, I would be a better boy. I would know exactly how to love a girl and make her feel happy. If I were a boy, I would know that all she needs is a few words, not a lot. If I were a boy, I would know it's not about sex, it's about a single touch, a stroke, a very light embrace. If I were a boy, I know that the protective arms around her shoulders is mightier and stronger than any other swords or weapons of destruction. If I were a boy, I would not roll out of bed in the morning without smelling her hair. I would also know how to sit and listen to her whenever she had to pour out her heart. I would also know that she could take anything in her stride except for betrayal. I would see her 'Nothing' and instantly know what nothing is. If I were a boy, I would know that feelings are more important than money. Shikes. If I were a boy, I would make a better man than many men I know in this lifetime. In fact, in this lifetime, I've been so disappointed by men for the smallest of things....because as small as they seem to them, it's big to me. And yet, they don't see that the little effort is worth it. If I were a boy, I would know it's almost always the small stuff that counts big. If a boy, I'd know how to make a girl happy, going out with the guys would be easy peasy...no complaints. Getting your way would also be a breeze in bed. And yet, men are stupid that way. Most of them anyway. Fine. SOME of them. FINE! The ones I've met. :-) Er....my dear exes or what-have-you-nots reading this post, I meant the OTHER GUYS. Hee hee hee.... Anyway, love Beyonce's music video. Brilliantly done....the song, OK only-lah. Don't quite like the 'giddy-up beat', a bit like cowboy. But maybe that's the idea.

At Camp 5, 1 Utama: Kids' Rescue Mission

The kids had a wonderfully exciting day today. Now, this is as extreme as this mother is going to get. Mommy goes Paintball, kids go mountain-climbing...I think I've fulfilled the criteria of offering my kids a fun and exciting life as a kid. :-) It was one of their friends' birthday party and they're a little bored of KidzSports...that's for BABIES, anyway, they say. So, off to Camp 5 then, says the birthday boy's mother. Camp 5 in 1 Utama is located near Neways Karaoke, for those who have never been there before. It's a neat little corner tucked up on the roof of the massive shopping complex. Anyway, the kids had tons of fun although a little apprhensive when they saw how high the 'rock' was. It's actually quite neat and if I didn't feel like throwing up whenever up on higher grounds, I would have wanted to try it as well. The highlight of this party came in the form of a rescue mission. As we all know, when one is frighte...

A Liberating Activity - Guess What Mine Is....

When asked what’s my one single favorite thing to do in the world, I would usually name a whole list of things that I love to do when my work is not screaming at me. Something that takes my mind COMPLETELY off of everyday tasks and relaxes me. Take a guess what it is…. If you say ‘ reading ’, yes, I love reading (especially soppy love stories with lots of sex scenes, please. Hee hee hee ….) and I also love mystery novels but it’s not the first on the list. If you say ‘ playing the piano ’; yes, I love playing the piano. Creating forms a huge part of my life and whenever I play the piano (as inept at it as I am), there’s this tiny little girl inside of me jumping up and down with glee, clapping her hands. It’s my childhood dream to be able to play the piano! And thumping on the keys gives me a sense of satisfaction when I hear the music. If you say ‘ writing ’; You’ve got to be kidding me! You mean I don’t write enough as it is? Case closed. If you say ‘ playing with my kids ’; Yea...

My Favorite Soup In The World

For some very strange reason, if you gave me a choice between soup and fruit juice, I feel a magnetic pull towards the ‘soup’. It’s a very Chinese thing and I understand that a lot of Chinese people are rather soupy people too. Pardon the word ‘soupy’, my brain isn’t quite working today and it’s like working in ssssllllooooowwww mmmmoooottttiioooonnnn today. Sigh…such is life. Yesterday was a darn hectic day and today is another one – I’ll suffer more today because of the brain-deadedness. My mom makes the meanest soups in the world . Last Sunday, we went over to her place for dinner and she made this absolutely mouth-watering soup that had me gulping down a huge bowl the size of a wok! Darn good…to say that I miss my mom’s cooking is an understatement. She is THE MEGA TERROR cook of the century! I am biased….so? The problem is that nowadays, her memory is not very good, so, once in a while, you’ll see her asking herself, “Did I put salt already ah?” If you’re within hearing dis...
