It’s not 365, it’s 182.5 from Hotlink. Advertise properly next time, OK?

I find the war of prices between Air Asia and MAS pretty funny – one lower the price, the other lowers even more. One says no need to pay money to fly wan…the other say the other one is bullshitting. Fooling the consumers into believing that they’re really getting free seats to some of the hottest destinations in Asia…it’s all there. This is an ongoing affair….if you’re a local, you would have been watching this way of war in the newspapers. If you’re an advertising or marketing company in Malaysia watching this war, you would be chuckling away at the breakfast table. If you’re THE advertising companies hired by these goons, then you’d be guffawing your way to your next holiday destination because of the sheer number of full-page ads these companies are asking you to come up with. They probably have spies in each others’ companies, come to think of it. Anyway, our Malaysian airlines and Air Asia aren’t the only local companies going for the blatantly-lying bag of tricks. Maxis and DIGI have been at it for umpteen years! Ever since DIGI got their own big gwai-low boss in, I would have to hand it over to DIGI for having some of the craziest yet funniest, most memorable and note-worthy ads. Love the duck ads they just put out. There…the one they have this duck noodles seller connecting and bonding with this cute duck and decided to switch to selling prawn mee because he thinks prawns don’t have feelings wan leh….damn funny lah! Maxis pales in comparison. They can try – but their advertising company isn’t very good. Tying up with Hitz.fm people and getting Rudy and JJ to mention ‘Hotlink’ a thousand times over isn’t going to cut it. I should know. You know that 365 package thing that Maxis has been screaming about this month? It’s actually a 182.5 package! Recently, heard that ad from DIGI telling us not to fall for hidden conditions, well, I got curious. I got my son a Hotlink and converted it into the 365 package hoping that they mean 365 days of air time when they say 365. After hearing the ‘terms and conditions’ ad from DIGI, I decided to call Maxis people to clarify the terms lah. Clear the air, you know. As it turns out, DIGI is right. You see, Maxis Hotlink says you get 365 days of airtime. But when you call the customer service people up and ask, “So! What are the conditions, mate?” they will tell you this. Miss, you have to reload your top-up at least RM30 within the six months, otherwise, your 365 package is cancelled”. HUH? That means, this is not 365 days package lah! This means that if I don’t top up at least RM30 in six months (which is easy to achieve but I don’t have to like the fact that they hid it from us and call it the 365 package), I get only 182.5 days of UNLIMITED air time?? And I already paid RM33 in advance for the 365 package….sigh, talk about being a SH. WTF, right? p.s. This ad….I mean, blog, is not sponsored by DIGI. I, now, have a personal vendetta against Maxis Hotlink people because they lied to me and I fell for it and….I am stuck with it for the rest of the 182.5 days…or was it 365?

Central Park is NOT a nice place ... Kepong (you mean FRIM right?) or Kiara would be a much better bet. FRIM probably has more educational opportunities for the kiddies ... Kiara is great but uphill one ya (nanti your boys running everywhere and you pengsan trying to keep up then how?) hahaha!!!!

huh? all about Hotlink and Digi then Kepong comes up? I hope I am posting my comments in the correct area here..

here goes: the so called War has escalated by the recent change your provider and retain your mobile number ( can retain mobile prefix ) move. Digi has a nice package called the 250....so I am waiting for what the others can come up with to counter. BTW, I am a Maxis customer for countless years liao but this "change provider but retain prefix+number move" is good for the consumers.

So, All Is Fair In Love and War huh? Nothing doin', just waiting to see what will be up..

AND

There is NO FREE lunch...always got hidden clause wan...ALWAYS...just have to read between the lines...kekekekek

Winnie is commenting on the comment that I left on her blog about CENTRAL PARK. Ya, trw going FRIM, i din know what its called FRUM, FIRM, MIRF mah, so i tembak kepong. finish. :-)

jamie, that's the thing lor. but i dont like maxis for some reason. i dunno. i am an underdog person, if people support Mr. A, i support Mr. B if he put a lot of effort into it.

And I like DIGI ads. i should have taken the 250 ad (straightforward) instead of maxis punya supposed 365 but actually 182.5 package.

now, i am stuck. at least DIGI din say 365 days a year mah!

i agree with you Divine Ms M, even though i've been a maxis customer for 13 years already...yeah i'm stoopid like that :(

i've always felt so cheated and fed up with their reception, and terms, and customer service, but yet i still stayed... i could never figure out why... because i wanna keep my mobile number maybe.

anyways, with the new MNP going on, i'm gonna see if maxshitz bucks up. if they don't then i'm so definitely going to jump ship and head to where i'm valued as a customer.

on a happier note, i do enjoy most of the Digi ads, simple and brillant. Kudos to the creative team.

another mom, ya lah. dunno why people just continue to stick with maxis eventhough there are other BETTER, much better, services out there. cheaper meh? I don't think by a lot lor. Not as far as the hotlink deal is concerned.

and I don't like it when they always hide-hide things lidat.

maybe that's why sometimes-lah (only sometimes) DIGI gets better branding and more people stick to it.

A Liberating Activity - Guess What Mine Is....

When asked what’s my one single favorite thing to do in the world, I would usually name a whole list of things that I love to do when my work is not screaming at me. Something that takes my mind COMPLETELY off of everyday tasks and relaxes me. Take a guess what it is…. If you say ‘ reading ’, yes, I love reading (especially soppy love stories with lots of sex scenes, please. Hee hee hee ….) and I also love mystery novels but it’s not the first on the list. If you say ‘ playing the piano ’; yes, I love playing the piano. Creating forms a huge part of my life and whenever I play the piano (as inept at it as I am), there’s this tiny little girl inside of me jumping up and down with glee, clapping her hands. It’s my childhood dream to be able to play the piano! And thumping on the keys gives me a sense of satisfaction when I hear the music. If you say ‘ writing ’; You’ve got to be kidding me! You mean I don’t write enough as it is? Case closed. If you say ‘ playing with my kids ’; Yea...

Maid Side-Kick

I was kind of a little sad when I read the news about this - there will be no live-in Indonesian maids in Malaysia anymore . There are pros and cons to having a live-in maid, as with everything else, but for us, we enjoyed more pros than cons. Back then, when my kids were little, we brought in a family of maids to help with...well, just about everything, and we were like two families merged into one. They ate what we ate, we sleep, they sleep, we shop, they shop, they joke, we laugh, we joke, they laugh...for me, the maid I hired was more like a sister and side-kick to me. For that few years, I was dependent on her to mind-read my schedule and when I need or don't need help. She picked things up quickly and we ended up having lots of moments whereby we were in sync. Today, two of them are on my Facebook and we were gleefully chatting over Facebook Messenger since they've just discovered the wonders of the Internet and Social Media. Since we were more like partners in crim...

Demanding a Balanced Lifestyle

We live in a world choked with demands….demand for more money, better lifestyle, more holidays, smarter kids, bigger house, posher cars….etc. People walk around with spiritually unimportant goals in their minds driven by the need to succeed and be better than others around them. Hong Kong. South Korea. Japan. Most Asian countries suffer from this ill-fate which have caused a horrific rise in the number of suicide rates in the said countries. Malaysia is no exception as well although we’re very slowly gaining ground on our neighbors. Just picking up my son from school can become a stressful affair. I’ve mentioned this to a few friends of mine over the phone and all of them cluck their tongue shake their head. It’s end of the year and the kids are getting their test results back by now. I overheard a couple of tai-tais (housewives) gripe about their kids’ results. Mom: I don’t know-lah. My kid did not do very well this term. The best also got 95 only. (NINETY FIVE ONLY???) ...
