Passionate Goodbye: Psy featuring Sung Si Kyung

I've made it known multiple times, including with my boys that Sung Si Kyung is tops for me as far as singers are concerned. There are also people like Michael Buble, Adam Levine (despite his notoriety for unwholesome lyrics - lol), Ed Sheeran, and old-school crooners like James Ingram and Kenny Loggins, they're my favorite singers of all time.  I dare say whatever songs they sing, I am behind it.  Other singers are Lea Salonga, Regine Valesquez, Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Kirsten Bell, (although she's technically not a singer), Karen Carpenter, Alicia Keys, Chris Martin, Adam Levine...and many, many more. There's Aretha Franklin, Jewel, and so many more. These were the singers who motivated me. Another two singers I can name include Kim Tae Woo and RAIN. Last but not least, it's Debbie Gibson, Tiffany, and Kylie Minogue.  This is really hard because I have so many singers and bands and I want to name...for instance Maroon 5, Beatles, New Kids on the Block, Jaso...

Queen For Seven Days (2017) - KDrama Review

I cried so much watching this drama that I swear my heart will never heal again. LOL To start with, it's Joseon era so, things are different from what they are now. And you have to watch it with this mindset. First of all, let's give a shout-out to the actors.  Park Min Young - I'm not her biggest fan but for some reason, she always deliver the best chemistry with her co-stars. So, I have to give her the salute. I don't know how she does it. Does she do some MBTI test on her co-stars before she says 'yes' to a show? From the start to the end, she is on point through happy and sad times.  Yeon Woo Jin - I've only watched one show with him in it and it's Introverted Boss. He was VERY VERY VERY VERY different there. So, his performance here knocked my socks off. Oh, I had a quick glimpse of his acting in Thirty-Nine (one of the latest Netflix series with none other than Son Ye Jin) and it's also very, very, very, VERY different from his performance here...

Music: No Longer Mine - Roy Kim (YouTube Video)

There's something about music that I don't think I will not love. When asked what kind of music I like or the kind of songs I like performing, I can't point to one.  All I know is that I love jazz but I can't pull it off. LOL. 🤣 It's sad but true.  I was watching 'Familiar Wife' on Netflix and completely fell in love with this song. I've got a new song with lyrics I barely understand. The meaning behind the song is really meaningful. The song may be sad but the movie is not (oops...spoiler?)

Music - Thank You by Carrie Grossman (Video)

Thank you by Carrie Grossman - Youtube I am reminded again that no matter how many times you fall, the most important part of the journey is how many times you get up and stay regardless of what is ahead of you. And whenever you get up, you stay steadfast to your beliefs and learn from where you failed. Most importantly, you are thankful every single morning as the sun rises and you're given another chance to make a difference. For some reason, whenever I listen to this song (such an understated, simple song), it makes me feel better about some people I've met in this world. I know once again that some people are meant to leave a positive impact in your life, others are lessons. I hope you like the song too. xxx

Weekend Rewind: Anything by 3T (Music) (Video)

One for the weekend! There are some songs that you listen to that effortlessly transports you back to when you were a kid. I am sure I am not the only who has this to say about this song: Anything by 3 T. Anything - 3T I had no idea this song had such an impact until I heard it on the radio. In my head, I was going all the way back to 1990s. Some guy sang it in a karaoke and although I don't remember his face but I definitely remember the way he sang it. Or maybe it's just the song itself. Who knows. Anyway, here's a rewind for the weekend! We're due to watch Toy Story 4 this weekend, wouldn't miss it for the world. Lotsa love and hope you enjoy your weekend. XOXO, Marsha

Music: We Are Gonna Be Alright (Video)

It's been a long time coming but, it's time to let go. We're walking away but we're gonna be alright. It's going to hurt a little while longer but we're stronger than we think we are. Don't look back. That's not where you're going. Be Alright - Dean Lewis I look up from the ground To see your sad and teary eyes You look away from me And I see there's something you're trying to hide And I reach for your hand but it's cold You pull away again And I wonder what's on your mind And then you say to me you made a dumb mistake You start to tremble and your voice begins to break You say the cigarettes on the counter weren't your friend's They were my mate's And I feel the colour draining from my face [Chorus] And my friend said "I know you love her, but it's over, mate It doesn't matter, put the phone away It's never easy to walk away, let her go It'll be alright" [Verse 2] S...

Short: Are We Too Delicate? (Music)

Dear you, Aren't we tired of being watched? Every move we make, every word we utter goes under the microscope. Every broken heart is your fault. Someone's anger is a result of your actions. Well, sometimes, it doesn't have to be because the best thing you can do for yourself most of the time is to eff it . Did the wind whisper in your ear today? Did your loved one call you to say thank you? Is someone important to you still breathing even if it's just for this moment? Is your car still working? Is that leak in your roof fixed? I hope your internet speed has improved. Did your toddler tell you that you're the best parent in the world? Did you take a nap and wake up next to your favorite stuffed animal? Are the flowers blooming in your garden? Has the snowstorm passed? Do you have a snowblower? Did you forget to bring sunscreen? Did you take your meds? Are you finally talking to your best friend? Did you hear that thump of your heart? It's the most prec...

Music: Home - Michael Buble and Blake Shelton (Video)

This song hits "home" for me. I can watch and listen to them singing this song the whole day. They've both got amazing voices. * swooooon * Home by Michael Buble and Blake Shelton (2008) XOXO Home, Marsha

Music: Luther Vandross (Video)

When Aretha Franklin passed on, my heart was heavy. We were losing really good singers these days leaving behind a generation of musicians who did not have the same appreciation for vocal geniuses. Leaving behind a new crop of "musicians" who relied heavily on computers and synthesized voices. Really, it's a thing. I live with teenagers and they tell me it's called " vocaloid ". We live in strange times. Hence, it made me look up my favorite artists, many of whom were women I looked up to when I was a hopeful, wishful, innocent adolescent full of bubblegum-flavored dreams. If there was one voice that always melts my heart like butter on warm corn is Luther Vandross. His voice is like silk on the skin. In my life, I've only heard of one person who had a voice close to his. Deep, penetrating, soothing, hypnotizing, emotional...all at the same time. I recognize his voice whenever it came on on the radio without knowing the song. I admittedly don...

Song : Human (Christina Perri)

Kindness is power. Use it Human Christina Perri I can hold my breath I can bite my tongue I can stay awake for days If that’s what you want Be your number one I can fake a smile I can force a laugh I can dance and play the part If that’s what you ask Give you all I am I can do it I can do it I can do it But I’m only human And I bleed when I fall down I’m only human And I crash and I break down Your words in my head, knives in my heart You build me up and then I fall apart 'Cause I’m only human, yeah I can turn it on Be a good machine I can hold the weight of worlds If that’s what you need Be your everything I can do it I can do it I'll get through it But I’m only human And I bleed when I fall down I’m only human And I crash and I break down Your words in my head, knives in my heart You build me up and then I fall apart 'Cause I’m only human, yeah I’m only human I’m only human Just a little human I can take so much Unti...

Music : The Evolution and Depth of Modern Music

This also explains why I can only listen to the local radio stations for a few hours before I start tuning out and have to listen to something else. The evolution of music has taken us from diversity to cookie-cutter music although I have to admit that DO listen to them sometimes and am besotted by their trendiness and catchiness but there is a limit to it. Credit: Black Guitar (FreeImages.com) Before any Kpop or EDM music lovers say anything, yes, it includes those too. I mean, there are very few Kpop or EDM stars and producers who try to do anything different. They stick to what is working all the time because...it's working. And if it's working, it's safe and it's making money so, why change? But that defeats the purpose of making music. Although it sells, it has lost its original purpose of inspiring individuals with lyrical significance, interesting combination of instruments, diversity of levels in terms of listening pleasure and there's no longer ...

Bye : It's No Longer Heavy

It's heavy no more. We'll miss your songs and voice. Love, Marsha p.s. I don't usually post more than once a day but I thought this warrants it. "Heavy" (feat. Kiiara) I don't like my mind right now Stacking up problems that are so unnecessary Wish that I could slow things down I wanna let go but there's comfort in the panic And I drive myself crazy Thinking everything's about me Yeah I drive myself crazy 'Cause I can't escape the gravity I'm holding on Why is everything so heavy? Holding on To so much more than I can carry I keep dragging around what's bringing me down If I just let go, I'd be set free Holding on Why is everything so heavy? You say that I'm paranoid But I'm pretty sure the world is out to get me It's not like I make the choice To let my mind stay so fucking messy I know I'm not the center of the universe But you keep spinning round me just the same I know I'...

Music : Winter's Dream - Kelly Andrew

It's Friday again and if you're not out there partying or dining with your fiends tomorrow, have a listen to this. Better yet if you have a good pair of speakers, hook it up and have a listen. It's a piano piece that is a little melancholic, has Enya-like vocals in the background, and sounds ever-so-much-better when you close your eyes. The song might not last in your head for a very long time to come but it is definitely very haunting and melodic...like listening to it when the sun is rising out in the distance or when you're approaching the top of a hilly terrain and the horizon is peeking out at you from afar. Some musicians complicate their songs with too many instruments but this is not one of them. I like that it is uncomplicated, better to clear your head with. Genre : Trance / Piano / Soundtrack Happy weekend, people of the world, Marsha Buy:  ALBUM:  http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/kellyandrew2 Song Youtube:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R5p9w...

Music : How Come, How Long - Babyface & Stevie Wonder (1997)

Do we let it just go on Turn our backs and carry on Wake up, for it's too late Right now, we can't wait She won't have a second try Open up your hearts As well as your eyes Was listening to the radio and this song came on and I sat there wondering how come they don't make songs like these anymore. Songs with a soothing melody, meaningful lyrics and sung by talented people who don't just know how to carry a tune but are so talented that their names will forever be etched in minds of the 1970s and 1980s babies. Can you imagine Babyface is 58 this year and Stevie Wonder is 67 (2017)? How Come, How Long - Babyface, Stevie Wonder There was a girl I used to know She was oh so beautiful But she's not here anymore She had a college degree Smart as anyone could be She had so much to live for But she fell in love With the wrong kinda man He abused her love and treated her so bad There was not enough education in her world That could save the life...

Music : Beautiful Life - CRUSH (Goblin)

One of the most unique and beautiful soundtracks to a Korean drama I've heard recently). Just up the volume and listen to the song... English lyrics translation at the bottom. Karaoke lyrics in the video itself.   Beautiful Life (Goblin)- CRUSH It’s a beautiful life I’ll stay by your side It`s a beautiful life I’ll stand right behind you beautiful love If I am with you under this sky Just breathing alone makes me happy It`s a beautiful life beautiful day I live in your memories beautiful life beautiful day Stay by my side beautiful my love beautiful your heart It`s a beautiful life It`s a beautiful life It’s a beautiful life I’ll always protect you It`s a beautiful life So lean on me beautiful love Your tears, your smile So we can be together It`s a beautiful life beautiful day I loved you like crazy beautiful life beautiful day I don’t wanna lose you beautiful my love beautiful your heart It`s a beautiful life Memories that resemb...

Music : If I Die Young (The Band Perry)

Life is unpredictable. You don't know when you're done with your calling and when God is going to tell you that ' You know what? Your mission is complete ' before you get to do whatever you think you may want to do. To mess up. To do something stupid. To be completely reckless. To be wild. To be unashamed. The lyrics resonates with me because it reminds me that not only is life short  but it can be short any time you're not looking . It could be slow or it could be fast so, don't look to far or too near. Sometimes, we're kinda guilty of that, aren't we? My favorite part of the song... A penny for my thoughts, oh, no, I'll sell 'em for a dollar They're worth so much more after I'm a goner And maybe then you'll hear the words I been singin' Funny when you're dead how people start listenin' "If I Die Young" If I die young, bury me in satin Lay me down on a bed of roses Sink me in a river at dawn Send...

Stand in the Light - Jordan Smith

Today, I just want to share something with you, it's Monday and I think we need to be reminded of the fact that sometimes, we just need to be who we are. The toughest critics on the planet are not your parents, not your sister or brother, not your best-friend and God forbid, let it not be your boss or colleagues. The toughest critic in your life is YOU . The voice of doubt, that uncertainty and that crippling anxiety. If you've not experienced this, WOW, you're an amazing person and keep at it. But for the rest of us, we've probably felt this at least once (come on, admit it) in our lives. Even when the people around us cheer us on and tell us that we've got this, that bloody voice in our heads keeps yapping away. You're gonna SUUUUUCCCKKKKKK!!!! You're going to trip and fall on your face. Look at them, they're smiling but inside, deep inside, they're praying to God that this will be the end of you. Trust me. Look at that smile, it's a smirk...

Music: Try - Colbie Caillat

One of the most inspiring and touching songs released in this era of auto-tuned songs, raunchy lyrics and superficial and sexist (er....anaconda, no? lol) videos. Whenever I listen to the lyrics, tears well up because it is so refreshing for us to break out of the reins that society have placed around our necks. Freeing yourself from what people impose on you is one of the most liberating things. IMHO la but it is really up to you if you want to use makeup, if it makes you feel good about yourself (or when you have to attend a wedding la...can't imagine going bare-faced myself haha) but the key is 'choice'. If you feel strangled by the norm, don't be afraid to break free. Otherwise, go on doing what makes you happy. Put your make up on Get your nails done Curl your hair Run the extra mile Keep it slim So they like you. Do they like you? Get your sexy on Don't be shy, girl Take it off This is what you want, to belong So they like you. Do you like y...

Awaken The Dawn

I am absolutely in awe of this song...I think of wide open space, hope, light, love, amazing miracles, human beings helping each other, salvation, truth, honor, belief and lights in a dark room. I think of being a small speck in the large spectrum of things. What do you think of when you listen to this song?

This Is, Indeed, Our Temporary Home

I don't know about the rest of you but whenever I feel down, this song never fails to remind me to focus on enjoying every single moment that we have here on the planet. We are not meant to be permanent here, we are meant to live, learn and then take it all back HOME. I salute the song writer as well as Carrie Underwood for her amazing rendition. Temporary Home Little boy, 6 years old  A little too used to bein' alone.  Another new mom and dad, another school,  Another house that'll never be home. When people ask him how he likes this place...  He looks up and says, with a smile upon his face,  "This is my temporary home  It's not where I belong.  Windows and rooms that I'm passin' through.  This is just a stop, on the way to where I'm going.  I'm not afraid because I know this is my  Temporary Home."  Young mom on her own. She needs a little help, got nowhere to go.  She's lookin' for a job, lookin' for a way out,  ...
