Possible COVD...AGAIN

Like mentioned, we have now completed moving to a new place but it has been a major struggle. Some days, my boys would help me; other days, I have the movers and cleaners to help me with the major stuff. But they still need to tell them what goes where, things to keep or do away with.  Usually, I am the kind of power-up and power-through kind of person, which one of the movers and my boys have highlighted to them, but I could not accept the fact that moving around piles of items, boxes, and equipment could tear me down.  Nope. You can't take me down with something like this.  Sometimes I have my boys to help me but most of the time, it is just me the hired help. They have classes to attend in their respective Universities and I just have to do it alone. I injured myself...how? I don't know. I threw my back out, started developing flu and cough, but still I tried to expedite everything because people were hounding on me to get things done. I am not the kind to complain eas...

What I Miss

Sunset in Port Dickson It's been some time since I added anything new to this blog. So sad. Things have definitely changed by leaps and bounds since the pandemic hit us. Furthermore, my boys became adults during the pandemic and everyone now knows the difficulties and challenges of working from home.  Before that, it was just a bunch of us trying to convince the rest of the world that we're really working.  via GIPHY So, now I would like to spend some time reminiscing about what I missed..in general, not just post-pandemic.  Girly Stuff I have, for most of my life, tried to raise my boys (no girls in this family except for me - LOL) and at some points, I found it absolutely baffling when I could not understand men. I think it goes both ways when my woman-personality comes through and they're left 😟😂.  In exchange for raising men, I miss quite a few girly stuff. I miss painting my face and fingernails as cumbersome as I think they are. I miss talking to people about...

Update: College Kid Woes: Parent in Pickles

No matter what the phase is that I am going through in my life, I try my best to be as grateful and happy as I can be. Yeah, sure, I get bamboozled by bad news and stuff (who isn’t, anyway, these days) but there’s always a silver lining in every dark cloud.  So cliche but I can’t help it. It’s the secret sauce to surviving.  On top of that, both my boys are now enrolled (albeit in a funny kind of Coronavirus way) into college and the spending is mind-blowing.  I am not alone in this, of course.  The rest of the world is with me  on this one but it doesn’t make it any easier. At some point, if you’re like me, we might find ourselves wondering if it was better for our kids to actually take a what-you-call a short hiatus while waiting for that darn vaccine.  What rubs me the wrong way is that we are paying full fees for college but are presented fed at the trough with a buffet of Masterclass-style and Udemy kind of services. I can’t help bu...

ReCap : What I’ve Learned in 2019

I’ve long given up on drawing up a list of resolutions because I know for a fact that it doesn’t work...for me, anyway. Instead, I come up with a list of things that I’ve learned the year before that has helped me grow. The list is kind of personal and long but I’ll share the gist of it here; who knows, it might help or resonate with someone else. I don’t like to lie and write about rainbows and fluffy puffs all the time. That’s not the way my life works and if I put up a front here, not only am I not being true to myself, I am also not being true to the people who actually read the shite I write. There are, of course,  filtered  things that I think might get me into trouble or cause a rift between people (because this is the  INTERNET , after all) but the things I post here are genuinely what I feel, be it  good  or  bad .  So, what have I learned in 2019? Here goes! Be the type of person who cheers on others, compliments strangers and enc...

Saturday Weekend Roundup: December 7th, 2019

Image credit: Nong Vang on Unsplash It's a Saturday again and the weekend is always my favorite days of the week. Any guesses why? 👵😜 So, what I am doing here today is I am going to share some of the stuff that I've discovered and saved over the week that I either found to be profound, enlightening, personal, or funny. So, here it goes! Don't you like it that I always make an effort to keep things short and simple? #pleasesayyoudo 1. Post-trauma: It's not a disorder, it's a response All of us respond to the things around us differently. Some see a spider and become afraid of them for the rest of our lives. Others get intrigued and figure out a way to capture them and keep them in jars as pets. It's all different from us.
