Update : Damn Bug

When you're a single mother with no support system, being sick sucks. It's a big deal because you're trudging along like a sick cow, everything's still got to work like a well-oiled machine while your head is somewhere between the A&E and La-La-Land.

I don't like to whine but considering the fact that this is my blog and all, shuff it.

But it seems that this darn bug is not going anywhere soon. Even with enough rest and pills to knock me out for days on end, the bug is still here and my head is still foggy. My neighbor walked past and cocked her eyebrows at me and simply said, 'Doctor?' She knows I will only see a Doctor when I feel like I am either gonna die or have no other alternative because she knows my usual solutions are as follows:-

I guess it's something even a good book and sleep is not going to solve. I think I gave my kids a hell of a time this morning and afternoon (with the haphazard planning and scattered ideas). Poor kids! They sure took it from me like troopers. I'll make it up to them.

Looks like it is time to sidestep the all-natural method of curing this bug (don't even bother telling me all about your winning formula of essential oil mixture, etc. Not right now) and head over to the doc. I hate giving in to the doctor. =(

Seriously, where DID this is damn persistent flu come from? It hit me like WHAM-BAM-KABOOM-YOWZA out of nowhere, really.

Not in the mood for anything,
Not even Kdrama (you can tell its bad when cute guys don't interest me),
*slight smile*
Love,
Marsha

p.s. Be back soon!

A Liberating Activity - Guess What Mine Is....

When asked what’s my one single favorite thing to do in the world, I would usually name a whole list of things that I love to do when my work is not screaming at me. Something that takes my mind COMPLETELY off of everyday tasks and relaxes me. Take a guess what it is…. If you say ‘ reading ’, yes, I love reading (especially soppy love stories with lots of sex scenes, please. Hee hee hee ….) and I also love mystery novels but it’s not the first on the list. If you say ‘ playing the piano ’; yes, I love playing the piano. Creating forms a huge part of my life and whenever I play the piano (as inept at it as I am), there’s this tiny little girl inside of me jumping up and down with glee, clapping her hands. It’s my childhood dream to be able to play the piano! And thumping on the keys gives me a sense of satisfaction when I hear the music. If you say ‘ writing ’; You’ve got to be kidding me! You mean I don’t write enough as it is? Case closed. If you say ‘ playing with my kids ’; Yea...

Maid Side-Kick

I was kind of a little sad when I read the news about this - there will be no live-in Indonesian maids in Malaysia anymore . There are pros and cons to having a live-in maid, as with everything else, but for us, we enjoyed more pros than cons. Back then, when my kids were little, we brought in a family of maids to help with...well, just about everything, and we were like two families merged into one. They ate what we ate, we sleep, they sleep, we shop, they shop, they joke, we laugh, we joke, they laugh...for me, the maid I hired was more like a sister and side-kick to me. For that few years, I was dependent on her to mind-read my schedule and when I need or don't need help. She picked things up quickly and we ended up having lots of moments whereby we were in sync. Today, two of them are on my Facebook and we were gleefully chatting over Facebook Messenger since they've just discovered the wonders of the Internet and Social Media. Since we were more like partners in crim...

Recipe :Pumpkin Carrot Soup

Updated this post with a real picture. Ever since, Son 2 saw me buying some local pumpkin, he's been suggesting this for the longest time. I wish I took a picture of the mushroom soup I made the day before. Edit: I did the mushroom soup recipe a bit earlier) + meatballs and pasta ) I didn't but I will do it the next time I make it. It was absolutely heavenly.  But anyway, these were more or less the ingredients I used and the way I made it.  I made it using the crock pot/slow cooker over a couple of hours because it's an easy and lazy way to melt everything down. Unlike Chinese soups, we just need to cook everything down and then blend everything, and I mean everything , except the juices, down to a pulp.  Before the final serving, just add in as much cooking cream as you want. This is subjective and based on your personal preference.  I don't think AI can recreate the images above. Hehehehe.....
