Help Feed These Children If You Can

People who know me knows that if there is one thing I am against, it is the fact that while we feast on our luxury food, paying exponential amount of money traveling and eating and having fun, there are children...KIDS...who are going to bed hungry.

This is puasa month. Last year, I tried to to fast along with my Muslim friends and have felt the hunger and thirst for all of....THREE friggin' days. I just couldn't take it. I quit. Shame on me.

So, to avoid disappointment, I did not even attempt the feat again this year. But the point is that, hunger is something I am against. Food is life. People just can't move or live on without food. I can't even take a fast, much less these poor unfortunate children.

Have a heart, let's do something for these hungry children if you are in the Klang Valley.

The organizer said, 'Even 1 pack of instant noodle is good enough'. So, please. Do something.

A Liberating Activity - Guess What Mine Is....

When asked what’s my one single favorite thing to do in the world, I would usually name a whole list of things that I love to do when my work is not screaming at me. Maid Side-Kick

I was kind of a little sad when I read the news about this - there will be no live-in Indonesian maids in Malaysia anymore . There are pros and cons to having a live-in maid, as with everything else, but for us, we enjoyed more pros than cons. Back then, when my kids were little, we brought in a family of maids to help with...well, just about everything, and we were like two families merged into one. They ate what we ate, we sleep, they sleep, we shop, they shop, they joke, we laugh, we joke, they laugh...for me, the maid I hired was more like a sister and side-kick to me. For that few years, I was dependent on her to mind-read my schedule and when I need or don't need help. She picked things up quickly and we ended up having lots of moments whereby we were in sync. Recipe :Pumpkin Carrot Soup

Updated this post with a real picture. Ever since, Son 2 saw me buying some local pumpkin, he's been suggesting this for the longest time. I wish I took a picture of the mushroom soup I made the day before. Edit: I did the mushroom soup recipe a bit earlier) + meatballs and pasta ) I didn't but I will do it the next time I make it. It was absolutely heavenly. But anyway, these were more or less the ingredients I used and the way I made it. I made it using the crock pot/slow cooker over a couple of hours because it's an easy and lazy way to melt everything down. Unlike Chinese soups, we just need to cook everything down and then blend everything, and I mean everything , except the juices, down to a pulp. Before the final serving, just add in as much cooking cream as you want. This is subjective and based on your personal preference. I don't think AI can recreate the images above. Hehehehe.....
