I am massively trying to moisturize my hands because it's been one whole day of cooking and washing dishes.
OK, my parents, both nearing their 60's, recently decided to open a cafe/restaurant, together a couple of my aunts. Being that age....sigh, I know how it is running a friggin' restaurant. I have experience. It's tough. FREAKING TOUGH. The work is endless.
But since they have embarked on this 'adventure', I can only think of doing something to help. Washing dishes. And waitressing.
I try to be there when I can and cheat my kids about swimming in the pool outside as long as they want while I do anything that I can.
But here's what happened tonight. These two teenagers who came to the cafe after-hours, we accepted their f***ing order. These above-50 people spent a lot of time defrosting and cooking the chicken chop and fish n chips (I was mainly washing dishes, remember?), make them drinks and you know what they effing do?
They told one of our people to get them ice water, noticing that my dad is counting money, they walked away. Ran away. Just like that.
Although the loss is not in the millions, we felt disgruntled. Quoting my dad, 'Added together, we must be a few hundred years old. We got cheated by these punks!!!'
If my dad meets them again, they're going to either die or end up sleeping in the station. F***ers!
Parents, train your kids well about integrity. These kids are probably rich kids with no morality and integrity. Instantly, I alerted my kids and informed them of the incident. They were miffed. 'Let's call their parents. Let's call the police!' but I tell them solemnly that it was a case-closed.
We learn from it. We learn how to hawk over every table like it was a roulette table. Either it's you who wins or them.
No one goes home with a free meal, punks. Karma's gonna get you. I wash your freaking dishes, my aunts cook your friggin' meal and you think it's an effing joke. Good luck to your parents. No, really. Good luck!
For me, I hope those guys spend three months washing dishes. Shit them.
I have been doing this pose, part of Cosmic Dance (a type of yoga, I am assuming), called Stargazer pose without knowing it is called Stargazer's pose a lot in the past. You see, sometimes, I don't follow the rules and come up with my own stretches and poses. It is fun. I have on some music, nice, soothing music or just anything I can click on. Then I go with the flow, letting my hair down. Just moving to the music...and that is when I come up with the above Stargazer's pose. This pose really stretches your sides. Keep your eyes on the outstretched hand if you are keeping it pointed to the top, as if you are waving or connecting to a higher energy from the Universe. Your arms will ache a little but hey, toned arms, here you come! :-) For those who want a bigger stretch, it is safe to slowly and gently move the lifted hand towards your back...don't overdo it, listen to your body's complaints and respect it. You don't have to prove anything to anyone, reme...
