I just can’t take it anymore, I just can’t!!! Gawd, it’s like someone trying to pull my teeth out without anesthesia! It’s against every single rule of design and branding that I’ve ever learned over the years (although I’ve never gone on to Graphic Design school) and it is killing me.
How does one use a FONT traditionally used for an ORBITUARY on a SIGN BOARD???? Good heavens, Geezuz help me. It’s not as if I can’t deal with (alright, I can’t) but it feels a lot like making a shoe-lover watch someone put a Jimmy Choo into a blender! Painful, painful, painful!
At the end of the day, good heavens (thank the Lord), it’s not my business…not my restaurant, not my café, and none of my business but it’s just this little designer and creative person in me SCREAMING OUT like nobody’s business for the dire mistake that they’re making."NNNOOOOOOO!!!!! Don't do it! DOn't, please, don't! DDDOOOONNNNN'TTTTT!!!"
And they did it.
I could be wrong, still, maybe it’ll work because design is such. Even the best of designers and creative directors make a mistake and misjudge things but this time, I don’t think I am wrong!
Well, if they want to use the font on the signboard made for dead people, then be it. I hope they have enough room for vampires. It’s none of my business and MOST IMPORTANTLY, it’s NOT MY FAULT. Don’t say I didn’t warn them and don’t say that I didn’t try to help.
Good heavens…this is going to take me some time to get over. And I have to go there once in a while and see that obituary up there.
It’s going to be like watching feces on an apple pie….
