Tomorrow will be better

An update: My Kakak is finally here! She's here! She's finally here!!! She's very young and a little bit inexperienced in terms of housework but never mind, I am pretty patient with these type of things. Very soft-spoken (or no-spoken because there's still a little bit of language barrier here) and obedient. Timid and scared as well but I keep telling her 'tak apalah, relax saja dulu' (don't worry, relax first now) because she so mengan-cheong (anxious) about what to do, how to do, when to do, where things are and stuff like that. Aiya, never mind lah, I keep telling here. Slowly lor....
For me, she's like an angel because she' here to save me from all the non-stop housework that I have to do. Never imagine that four people can wear so many clothes, eat so much food, use so many cups and dishes and produce so much litter! Like never-ending. So, with her here, at least I can unload those stuff on her liao! Yipeee!!!
Hopefully, I would have more free time now to deal with the business and the writing. Been MIA-ing from some clients these days because REALLY GOT NO TIME TO DEAL WITH THE PROJECTS. Not that I don't want to do but between cooking, cleaning and dealing with the kids, how to have time for anything when the day is over. No time to catch up on my VCDs and my books, you know.
The only daily thing that I deservedly and jealously do is my spa-thing. The aromatherapy, the lotions, the scrubs, the massages and the yoga and meditation.
As they always say 'ming thin wui kang hou' (tomorrow will be better)....let's hope so.
Sidenote: Bringing in a live-in maid has become SO BLOODY EXPENSIVE!!! Almost RM8k these days! Last time, I remember spending only about RM3k or something like that! Bloody hell! And the salary also not cheap these days. I think it's better, if you're looking for help, if you employ locals now, actually. But nothing beats having someone around 24/7, right? Yeah...I know.....

A Liberating Activity - Guess What Mine Is....

When asked what’s my one single favorite thing to do in the world, I would usually name a whole list of things that I love to do when my work is not screaming at me. Something that takes my mind COMPLETELY off of everyday tasks and relaxes me. Take a guess what it is…. If you say ‘ reading ’, yes, I love reading (especially soppy love stories with lots of sex scenes, please. Hee hee hee ….) and I also love mystery novels but it’s not the first on the list. If you say ‘ playing the piano ’; yes, I love playing the piano. Creating forms a huge part of my life and whenever I play the piano (as inept at it as I am), there’s this tiny little girl inside of me jumping up and down with glee, clapping her hands. It’s my childhood dream to be able to play the piano! And thumping on the keys gives me a sense of satisfaction when I hear the music. If you say ‘ writing ’; You’ve got to be kidding me! You mean I don’t write enough as it is? Case closed. If you say ‘ playing with my kids ’; Yea...

Malaysian Election 2008 - Malaysians ready for change

The political wrestle is over, here in Malaysia, and thankfully too because it earned me a hangove from watching the news, and reading all the readily available blogs on cyberspace all night long. With a spilting headache from squinting into the PC screen, watching the TV for news on the results from the ballot boxes, anxiety, uncertainty and HOPE lingers in the air..... BN, our ruling party in Malaysia, who has been flexing its political muscles for a long time now with the confident (and ever sleepy and gay) PM convincing Malaysians that BN is the only way to peace. Opposition cannot hold the fort properly, though, because the formation and coalition between them is too loose. But with BN denied the 2/3 majority it needed, all I can say is that Pak Lah tore a tendon while flexing his political muscles. Fed up, fed up, fed up - Malaysians are fed up A lot of Malaysians chose not to vote for the oppositition IN THE PAST because we wanted unity, we resisted change because of a date w...

Maid Side-Kick

I was kind of a little sad when I read the news about this - there will be no live-in Indonesian maids in Malaysia anymore . There are pros and cons to having a live-in maid, as with everything else, but for us, we enjoyed more pros than cons. Back then, when my kids were little, we brought in a family of maids to help with...well, just about everything, and we were like two families merged into one. They ate what we ate, we sleep, they sleep, we shop, they shop, they joke, we laugh, we joke, they laugh...for me, the maid I hired was more like a sister and side-kick to me. For that few years, I was dependent on her to mind-read my schedule and when I need or don't need help. She picked things up quickly and we ended up having lots of moments whereby we were in sync. Today, two of them are on my Facebook and we were gleefully chatting over Facebook Messenger since they've just discovered the wonders of the Internet and Social Media. Since we were more like partners in crim...
