Let me just say that combining lime with anything sweet, especially honey and sugar is absolutely delicious! But with a bit of turmeric, we're talking about satay-style dishes, man! LOL But the thing with this turmeric dish is that it was more about me trying to find a way to use the lime that I bought (for honey lime juice) that was still sitting in the fridge. I had to use them before they rot in there for absolutely no good reason! =)
The best way would be to either use the grill or maybe oven but since I was in no mood to sit around waiting for things to cook (time is of essence when you have work from home), I naturally went for the air-fryer which is just as useful as the oven. The only benefit to using the air-fryer, as opposed to using the oven, is that the chicken (when you toss it around in the air-fryer midway) will turn out crispier. And who agrees with me when I say the burnt parts of the food is almost always the best part? XD
We love chicken drumstick and thigh in this house...I mean, most people do, I know, but using chicken breast is healthier. After a few days of red meat, it's time for some white, I suppose.
The internet, or health-based websites, are all-the-rage about the benefits of consuming turmeric but this spice is a staple for most people in this region or in MANY Malay and Indian cuisine. AND they're really cheap here too! But instead of jumping off the deep end with turmeric-inspired juice and everything-healthy that's coursing through every vein of the internet right now, just search for some simple recipes where you can add a touch to turmeric to your everyday meal. In fact, you can even cook your rice with it.
So, here's something you might want to try at home if you have a little packet of turmeric powder sitting somewhere in your kitchen. For the printable version, head over to my Cookpad page for Turmeric Lime Honey Airfried Chicken Breast. Otherwise, it's here below.
XOXO,
Have fun and eat away!
