We don't stop playing because we're old. We grow old because we stop playing.
It's FRIDAY, it's time to play kow-kow (all out), people!!!! Let me hear the cheer! Tomorrow badminton, Yoga for the kids and I finally get some time to add to the final chapter of my book. I tell you something, if people think climbing Mount Everest is hard, they've not tried to get a book published before! The mountains and mountains of obstacles appears almost insurmountable. But here's a another quote that will put that into perspective.
The moment we stop dreaming, we die. We have a lot of dead people walking in and out of our lives everyday. - Chicken Soup for the Soul
Yes, I am big on dreams and this, I assure you, is what I will instill in my kids. My legacy....so to speak lah. I don't have lots of property or big chunks of cash in bank accounts and all that....so, I leave my kids with lessons on how to live life properly.
Dreams make the soul. Without the soul, the body is nothing, so live your dreams - this powerful quote is from a very famous and thick-skinned writer named Marsha Maung. :-)
FRIDAY'S ENGLISH: The reason why we say the fler (fella) is fit as a fiddle is because it dates back to a time when fiddlers used to entertain people all night long. It's not easy to dance and play the fiddle all night long, right? But over time, instead of 'fit as a fiddler', it morphed into 'fit as a fiddle'. Lawrd knows how it is possible, at all, to be a fit fiddle. Now, go! Go have fun! Thank goodness it's Friday.....already!!!!!

A Liberating Activity - Guess What Mine Is....

When asked what’s my one single favorite thing to do in the world, I would usually name a whole list of things that I love to do when my work is not screaming at me. Something that takes my mind COMPLETELY off of everyday tasks and relaxes me. Take a guess what it is…. If you say ‘ reading ’, yes, I love reading (especially soppy love stories with lots of sex scenes, please. Hee hee hee ….) and I also love mystery novels but it’s not the first on the list. If you say ‘ playing the piano ’; yes, I love playing the piano. Creating forms a huge part of my life and whenever I play the piano (as inept at it as I am), there’s this tiny little girl inside of me jumping up and down with glee, clapping her hands. It’s my childhood dream to be able to play the piano! And thumping on the keys gives me a sense of satisfaction when I hear the music. If you say ‘ writing ’; You’ve got to be kidding me! You mean I don’t write enough as it is? Case closed. If you say ‘ playing with my kids ’; Yea...

At Camp 5, 1 Utama: Kids' Rescue Mission

The kids had a wonderfully exciting day today. Now, this is as extreme as this mother is going to get. Mommy goes Paintball, kids go mountain-climbing...I think I've fulfilled the criteria of offering my kids a fun and exciting life as a kid. :-) It was one of their friends' birthday party and they're a little bored of KidzSports...that's for BABIES, anyway, they say. So, off to Camp 5 then, says the birthday boy's mother. Camp 5 in 1 Utama is located near Neways Karaoke, for those who have never been there before. It's a neat little corner tucked up on the roof of the massive shopping complex. Anyway, the kids had tons of fun although a little apprhensive when they saw how high the 'rock' was. It's actually quite neat and if I didn't feel like throwing up whenever up on higher grounds, I would have wanted to try it as well. The highlight of this party came in the form of a rescue mission. As we all know, when one is frighte...

My Favorite Soup In The World

For some very strange reason, if you gave me a choice between soup and fruit juice, I feel a magnetic pull towards the ‘soup’. It’s a very Chinese thing and I understand that a lot of Chinese people are rather soupy people too. Pardon the word ‘soupy’, my brain isn’t quite working today and it’s like working in ssssllllooooowwww mmmmoooottttiioooonnnn today. Sigh…such is life. Yesterday was a darn hectic day and today is another one – I’ll suffer more today because of the brain-deadedness. My mom makes the meanest soups in the world . Last Sunday, we went over to her place for dinner and she made this absolutely mouth-watering soup that had me gulping down a huge bowl the size of a wok! Darn good…to say that I miss my mom’s cooking is an understatement. She is THE MEGA TERROR cook of the century! I am biased….so? The problem is that nowadays, her memory is not very good, so, once in a while, you’ll see her asking herself, “Did I put salt already ah?” If you’re within hearing dis...
