My guy, MacGyver

Many of you were still in diapers when TV was showing one of the most intelligent show (by last time's standards) on the planet starring a man with the dreamiest eyes possible. McGyver. I mean, there was nothing this guy cannot fix and give him a hammer, a nail and a screwdriver and the fella just builds a bomb! Richard Dean Anderson may not be the best actor nor does he have the hottest bod in the world but man, he's way cool in MacGyver. What happened to the show anyway? And accordingly, Richard Dean Anderson is now about my father's age....damn. For those of you were not lucky to be born early enough to watch the show, MacGyver was one of the hottest shows (still is, next to Knight Rider) on the planet. Compared to all those reality TV that we have on air these days, sigh.....MacGyver is a simple guy working as a cannot-remember-what-he-was-working-as with kick-ass attitude and brain of a rocket scientist. When he lands himself in shit, he can make use of just about anything around him to get himself out of trouble. Of course, sometimes you feel like....wahhh....where got such coincidence wan? But that's the beauty of the show, I guess. MacGyver using his brains and knowledge of science to get himself out of trouble. What I really like is the fact that he's the man of my dreams!! No, not Anderson per se but MacGyver! Quiet, mid-mannered (never seen him raise his voice in the show before), very disciplined and SMART LIKE HELL. MacGyver is different because there's an underlying message to be delivered. You don't need guns and bombs to be big. All you need is your head. When you use your head, you can create unorthodox solutions to problems. Think out of the box. With knowledge, MacGyver can whip the bad guys' asses from here to another Milky Way. I miss MacGyver. In fact, I think my kids would enjoy watching MacGyver. :-) http://www.rdanderson.com/ http://rdanderson.com/bio/bio.htm http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_Dean_Anderson

Hi, Marsha!

I actually liked 'Jack' better than Mac. I thought Mac was rather chilly. That was years ago...I like Mac better now and I have all the seasons.

I LOVE MACGYVER!!!! I LOVE RICHARD DEAN ANDERSON!!! I was just a kid when I saw MacGyver but I loved the show so much! My Dad adores this guy - he even bought a Swiss Army Knife because MacGyver had one! Man... What a brilliant show! Did you watch Stargate SG1? He was brilliant in that one too! He's old but he's just got this air about him... charisma maybe...

A Liberating Activity - Guess What Mine Is....

When asked what’s my one single favorite thing to do in the world, I would usually name a whole list of things that I love to do when my work is not screaming at me. Something that takes my mind COMPLETELY off of everyday tasks and relaxes me. Take a guess what it is…. If you say ‘ reading ’, yes, I love reading (especially soppy love stories with lots of sex scenes, please. Hee hee hee ….) and I also love mystery novels but it’s not the first on the list. If you say ‘ playing the piano ’; yes, I love playing the piano. Creating forms a huge part of my life and whenever I play the piano (as inept at it as I am), there’s this tiny little girl inside of me jumping up and down with glee, clapping her hands. It’s my childhood dream to be able to play the piano! And thumping on the keys gives me a sense of satisfaction when I hear the music. If you say ‘ writing ’; You’ve got to be kidding me! You mean I don’t write enough as it is? Case closed. If you say ‘ playing with my kids ’; Yea...

At Camp 5, 1 Utama: Kids' Rescue Mission

The kids had a wonderfully exciting day today. Now, this is as extreme as this mother is going to get. Mommy goes Paintball, kids go mountain-climbing...I think I've fulfilled the criteria of offering my kids a fun and exciting life as a kid. :-) It was one of their friends' birthday party and they're a little bored of KidzSports...that's for BABIES, anyway, they say. So, off to Camp 5 then, says the birthday boy's mother. Camp 5 in 1 Utama is located near Neways Karaoke, for those who have never been there before. It's a neat little corner tucked up on the roof of the massive shopping complex. Anyway, the kids had tons of fun although a little apprhensive when they saw how high the 'rock' was. It's actually quite neat and if I didn't feel like throwing up whenever up on higher grounds, I would have wanted to try it as well. The highlight of this party came in the form of a rescue mission. As we all know, when one is frighte...

Demanding a Balanced Lifestyle

We live in a world choked with demands….demand for more money, better lifestyle, more holidays, smarter kids, bigger house, posher cars….etc. People walk around with spiritually unimportant goals in their minds driven by the need to succeed and be better than others around them. Hong Kong. South Korea. Japan. Most Asian countries suffer from this ill-fate which have caused a horrific rise in the number of suicide rates in the said countries. Malaysia is no exception as well although we’re very slowly gaining ground on our neighbors. Just picking up my son from school can become a stressful affair. I’ve mentioned this to a few friends of mine over the phone and all of them cluck their tongue shake their head. It’s end of the year and the kids are getting their test results back by now. I overheard a couple of tai-tais (housewives) gripe about their kids’ results. Mom: I don’t know-lah. My kid did not do very well this term. The best also got 95 only. (NINETY FIVE ONLY???) ...
